Language− (Language Minus) combines two disciplines from General Semantics into one writing practice: removing absolute quantifiers and removing the identity "to be" (E-Prime). Together they eliminate the two most common ways language creates false maps of reality.

Forms of "to be" used to equate a person/thing with a label (identity) or project a quality onto an object as if intrinsic (predication). Forces you to own your evaluations and describe actions instead of states.

Many sentences violate both rules simultaneously. "She is always wrong" contains identity-is AND absolute "always". Language− catches both in one pass. The result maps closer to what actually happened.
